It's chasing trophies, rankings and revenue — at the expense of what actually matters: real player development. Talented players plateau. Families burn out. Potential goes unrealized.
DARE exists to fix that.Trophies over development. Short-term wins are prioritized over the long-term growth of each individual player.
Rankings over people. Young athletes are treated as assets — not as developing human beings with futures beyond the game.
No pathway forward. Committed players are rarely guided toward European academies, college recruitment, or professional opportunities.
Character left behind. The discipline, resilience, and mindset that make players and people great are rarely coached intentionally.
Our methodology is shaped by 20+ years of elite development — including the Southampton FC Academy — with a track record that reaches the FIFA World Cup. Built on four pillars.
Developing elite ball control, first touch, passing quality, finishing, and the ability to execute under pressure — consistently.
Teaching players how to read the game, process information faster, adapt to different situations, and understand how their role impacts the collective.
Building speed, agility, strength, coordination, balance, and endurance — preparing players physically to compete and excel at the next level.
Instilling confidence, discipline, coachability, courage, and the mindset required to handle adversity and perform under pressure.
Pursuing real, lasting improvement in technical ability, game intelligence, and creativity — not surface-level results.
Becoming proactive players who lead with purpose, responsibility, and accountability — on and off the pitch.
Learning to handle adversity, setbacks, and pressure with confidence and maturity. Challenge is not optional — it is inevitable.
Going above and beyond in all aspects of training, playing, and life. The standard is not the minimum — it is excellence.
Success at DARE is not measured by trophies or status. It is measured by growth, character, and the transformation of players into confident, capable competitors — on the field and in life. Every DARE player is held to one standard.
Leaders who elevate the performance and mindset of those around them.
Physically prepared to compete beyond the demands of the game.
Committed to learning, applying feedback, and continuous growth.
Disciplined enough to perform winning habits until excellence is automatic.
Driven by habits, standards, and a long-term commitment to improvement.
Able to perform decisively, without hesitation or fear.
Willing to step forward boldly when the moment demands it.
Intelligent competitors who solve problems and outthink the opposition.
Players who execute at decisive moments and deliver when it matters most.
The ultimate outcome: players that coaches, scouts, and teams actively want.
At DARE Futbol Academy, our philosophy is centered on one goal: developing complete, adaptable, high-performance players prepared for the modern game.
We are not a team or a club focused on formations, systems, or short-term results. Our role is to develop the individual player — equipping them with the technical ability, physical readiness, tactical understanding, and mental resilience needed to thrive in any environment and at every level of the game.
Today's game demands more than specialization. It demands versatility. That is why one of our core principles is developing players to perform confidently and effectively in at least two positions. Players who understand multiple roles develop a deeper understanding of the game, make better decisions, and become more valuable to coaches, teams, recruiters, scouts, and future opportunities.
At DARE, we create a training environment where players are encouraged to take risks, solve problems, and push beyond their comfort zones. Growth requires courage. Mistakes are not failures — they are essential to development.
We are extremely competitive — and we aim to develop competitors. We believe winning matters, but long-term development matters more.To ensure growth is intentional and progressive, DARE operates on a 12-month high-performance curriculum, structured around monthly development themes, weekly objectives, and daily training activities — guaranteeing players receive consistent, purposeful development across every critical area of the game.
We train players not just for the next game — but for the next level.
Our goal is not simply to place players by age or current level — it is to understand their commitment, mindset, goals, and readiness to train in a high-performance environment. We assess both ability and intent to ensure the best developmental fit.
Build technical consistency, confidence, and fundamental movement patterns. Designed for players establishing strong habits and a reliable technical foundation.
Advanced technical consistency, skill execution, and confidence under increasing pressure. For players ready to accelerate growth and train at a higher tempo.
Speed of play, decision-making, and execution under pressure. For players transitioning from technical development into game-real performance demands.
High-intensity training for committed players prepared to operate at the next level. Reserved for those with exceptional dedication, discipline, and competitive ambition.
Reserved for the best youth, college and professional players requiring targeted acceleration — college recruitment, professional opportunities, trials, and position-specific development.
At DARE, progression is not automatic — it is earned through performance, consistency, attitude, and commitment. Because serious player development requires more than talent. It requires intent.
DARE Futbol Academy is more than a high-performance training academy — it is a strategic football advisory platform serving players, families, clubs, and organizations across the broader football ecosystem.
MJ Tate has participated in and supported strategic discussions, negotiations, and transactions exceeding $10 million, bringing real-world executive insight and relationship capital to every engagement.

MJ Tate built DARE because youth soccer deserves better.
MJ's football journey began in the world-renowned Southampton FC Academy — one of the game's most respected player development environments and home to talents such as Gareth Bale and Alan Shearer.
A former professional player turned high-performance coach and football executive, MJ has spent more than two decades developing players and building winning environments — from youth athletes to professionals, college players to World Cup competitors.
After years of seeing too many young athletes underserved by a system focused on short-term results, he founded DARE to create something different: a high-performance training system designed to raise the standard and help serious players reach their full potential.

"MJ had such a big impact on me, not just in soccer but in the way I believed in myself and approached the game. From a young age, he encouraged me to take risks and think outside the box. He never wanted me to play scared or fit into one style. He gave me the confidence to trust my instincts and play freely, and that's something that has stayed with me throughout my career. He cared about development the right way. It wasn't just about winning games. He wanted me to grow technically, mentally and as a person too."
"I remember Coach Tate being very passionate about the team and striving for visually appealing and technically astute play. As a player, it was always my impression that you called out things the way you saw them and never shied away from asserting the higher mission statement of your work as a coach. Some might liken MJ Tate to a U.S. version of Pep Guardiola. You went out of your way to prepare us — I vividly remember training in a high-altitude simulator facility to get us acclimated to Colorado Springs."
"MJ has knowledge like Albert Einstein in a soccer version and swag like Cristiano Ronaldo. Having the opportunity to be coached by MJ was amazing — I was able to be developed as a great player and as a person. Not many people can say they played at a professional level like I can. I owe my experiences to MJ. I have seen him take teams and individual players that would never have had a chance to win anything and make them winners. He took me under his wing and guided me to the right path."
"I did private and group sessions with MJ when I was younger. His sessions are fun and help develop technical ability. What makes MJ stand out is how much energy he brings to every session. He has a very encouraging and supportive coaching style!"
Ethan Hill — a player connected to MJ's development system — earned a place in the Southampton FC Under 15s squad (2016/17), the same world-renowned academy where MJ began his own journey. Ethan went on to play professionally for Forest Green Rovers FC in the English Football League — a direct result of the development pathway MJ helped build.
